Fears and doubts stifling

Shivering in the cold

Heart inside chest

Chest locked tight

Battered and scarred

Broken and bruised

Storm raging all around

Water churns and floods

Wind tears at hair and clothes

Rain falls mingling with tears

Gut wrenching cry 

Anger and sadness mingle

Falling to the ground

Head bowed as chest falls

A flash of light in the dark

And sudden warm comes from behind

Strong, calloused hand on shoulder

Safe, comforting form kneels beside

Eyes raise in curiosity

Tears still falling

Doubts and questions flash

Fear reflecting in her eyes

Sympathetic face close to hers

Compassionate eyes light a spark

Small, reassuring smile glows

Love reflecting in deep blue eyes

Arms come, holding tight

Tears continue to fall

Warmth and love around her

Overcome her doubts and fears

Still uncertainty lingers

Still pain exists

But home is found nonetheless

In the loving arms of a friend
