she was beautiful
but twisted
her charm
i could not have resisted
if i tried
the curve of her smile was a little off kilter
she always giggled during sermons
in serious conversations she had no filter
and the things she found beautiful
were often rather tragic:
a bloom of red warm on white skin
the sting of salt on dry, cracked lips
women's smiles tainted with a hint of sin
and demons dancing in mind's shadows
